On Saturday I went to NYC to see my brother and his family, and to attend Game 6 of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium. While there I watched BC give away a game to Notre Dame in the afternoon, and we then took the subway up to Yankee Stadium on Saturday night, only to be told, as we got out of the train, that the game had been cancelled. We had checked the website before we left but there had been no postponement announcement. Due to work commitments today, I was unable to stay for last night’s game. Talk about a kick in the balls. I left NYC at 11:30a.m. on Sunday and got home around 4:30. My brother reports that they were in the 3rd row in left field, pretty good seats for a playoff game. I’ve been to 3 Yankee playoff games in my life, but none was a series clincher for the Yanks, so it was pretty disappointing not being able to stay for the game. I did stay up to watch it last night, and it ended well, with the Yanks winning 5-2 and advancing to their first World Series since 2003 (and winning their 40th pennant), so I can’t complain too much. We have tickets to Game 7 of the World Series, so if there is a Game 7, you can bet your ass I’ll be making that one come hell or high water.
