This week, I have been watching the documentary “Lost Son of Havana” about former major league pitcher Luis Tiant and his return to his homeland of Cuba for the first time since he left 46 years ago. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1362435/ I DVR’d it, as it aired on espn after a baseball game last week, but since the game went [...] Director John Hughes died yesterday at the young age of 59. I knew he had written some of the iconic movies of the 80′s such as Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, and Home Alone, but for some reason I didn’t realize he wrote some of my favorite flics from that era: Mr. Mom, Vacation, European Vacation [...] A few weeks ago I bought Joe Torre and Tom Verducci’s book, The Yankee Years. I initially had decided that I was not going to read the book, since the reports on the book indicated that Torre threw a lot of players under the bus and it was painted as an anti-Yankees tome. But I [...] Barstool Sports links this clip all the time. It’s one of my favorites. It’s great on so many levels. You know somebody we went to high school with must have made a video like this.
