As you know, I like to visit and rank various major league ballparks. I don’t have a video game system these days, but if I did I’d defintely be getting this game. Included in MLB10 The Show are a host of old classic ballparks. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVSzjn3Etp8 I went to the BC basketball game versus Miami on Sunday, so I missed most of the Patriots debacle. Heading into the season, I was pretty optimistic, as BC returned everyone from last year’s NCAA squad but Tyrese Rice ( albeit their top scorer). BC then lost to St. Joe’s and Northern Iowa (not a bad club) at [...] BC plays Notre Dame this weekend for the last time (or at least for a while, as the contract runs out after this season; there are talks to resume the series perhaps in 2014 or later, but nothing has been signed). UPDATE: THIS IS WRONG. THERE IS ONE MORE GAME BETWEEN BC AND ND IN 2010, WHICH [...] Well last night the Yanks let the Angels back into the ALCS, losing 5-4 in 11 innings on a walk off double by Jeff F’n Mathis, he of the .211 batting average. The Yanks left too many runners in scoring position and simply did not hit enough (they really haven’t hit well the entire postseason), [...] Before I get to my baseball playoff predictions, let’s take a look at how I did with my preseason predictions from my post on April 6, 2009: AL East: Boston New York (WC) Tampa Bay Baltimore Toronto AL Central Cleveland Minnesota Kansas City Chicago Detroit AL West Los Angeles Oakland Texas Seattle Playoffs: Boston over Los Angeles; New York over Cleveland; Boston over New York NL East: New York Philadelphia Atlanta Florida Washington NL Central: Chicago St. Louis Cincinnati Milwaukee Houston Pittsburgh NL West Los Angeles Arizona (WC) San Francisco Colorado San [...] On Saturday the Mrs. and I took in the BC-Northeastern football game. BC steamrolled an absolutely atrocious Northeastern from the get go, so there was plenty of time for me to look around the stands (as opposed to swearing and yelling throughout a close game whenever BC makes a mistake). The first sight was pointed out by the Mrs. [...] Well, here it is, the 31st of August, the day I consider the unofficial last day of summer. I was on vacation last week through today. I return to work tomorrow. I can say that my vacation, which consisted of a few small trips andsome hanging around at home, was very much needed. I feel [...] So the Mrs. and I have begun talking about having a baby. Nothing is imminent or anything, but naturally the thought of having a child some day got me thinking about baseball. As readers and friends of the Conman know, I’m a Yankee fan, despite the fact that I grew up in RI and currently [...] I attended BC’s game against Florida State on Tuesday night in which the Eagles secured their 20th win of the season and inched closer to a possible NCAA bid. This dunk from Rakim Sanders brought the house down (even if it was a bit risky during a tight game). It wasn’t on the level of [...] But I was at the BC-Duke game on Sunday night. Fantastic game and a much needed win for the Eagles. They are currently 19-8 and 7-5 in the ACC. I believe they need 3 more wins to assure themselves of a place in the NCAA tourney.
